Kailua-Kona Public Library will be closed Saturday because the roads and areas in front of the building will be shut down for the 2015 Ironman Triathlon, making the library inaccessible for patrons.
The book drops will remain open.
The library will reopen at noon Tuesday and resume its regular public service schedule.
Hoolaulea to benefit church
Glad Tidings Church is celebrating its first hoolaulea from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
The day begins with a rummage sale at 6 a.m. followed by the hoolaulea featuring live entertainment with Bert Naihe and Friends, One Rhythm and an N2 Dance performance. Certified XY HIIT workout trainer Reyn Cabarloc will demonstrate and lead a short fitness class.
There will be a presentation by keiki from Camp Agape, which hosts an annual camp for children of incarcerated parents, and a silent auction featuring a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo donated by Big Island Motors. Children’s activities include a bouncing castle, the Zoochoo train, a static fire truck display and game booths.
Also planned are health, craft and food booths. Proceeds benefit Camp Agape.

Club hosting Oktoberfest
Put on your lederhosen and waltz over to the Hilo Woman’s Club for a night of fun and German food from 6-9 p.m. Saturday.
The event includes a traditional German dinner with beer and wine and live music by the OvertheHillbillies band. There is a ticket donation of $25. The club is located at 7 Lele St. (off Punahele St.) in Hilo. Call 935-9838 for tickets.
Christian Liberty Academy fair set
Christian Liberty Academy will host its 17th annual Harvest Fair starting with a rummage sale at 7 a.m. followed by the fair at 9 a.m. Saturday at 16-675 Milo St. in Keaau.
Everyone is welcome. There will be games for children, a water slide, laser tag, plant sales, cake walks, snacks, livestock auction and steak fry.
Proceeds from the fair will go toward the academy’s accreditation renewal process, allowing graduates to be eligible for scholarships upward of $10,000.
